How to turn off lighter?

I feel like I'm missing something pretty obvious but I'm coming humbly. all i saw in the backback was an 'equip' option and no 'put away' options. what am i missing here?

also when you will find a flashlight, it doesn't last forever, don't get the batteries go out on you while fighting mutants during the night alone in the forest while it rains

I love how your guy relight the lighter. I had one time, right at a critically scary moment the frigging thing wouldn't light back up. he tried about 15 times before it lit up again. Longest 10 seconds I've felt in a game for a while now!
