Random cockpit locations?

I have begun to think the cockpit has a random location.

I have found it several times near the large village, but the last few play through sessions it has not been where it was.

Now I have been watching PartiallyRoyal's YouTube playthroughs and he has had the same problem. He was looking for it where I used to always find it based on some images he was sent.

In his latest video I spotted it in the trees in a different location (but he walked right past it).

So I want confirmation from other players that the cockpit has a random spawn? Also where have you found it before? How many locations can it be?

It will make it easier to find the flare gun.

Just like the plane yes it's random or it would be to easy each game. But I havent even found it yet.

And it's easier just getting the flare gun under the boat floating in the water by dead shark.

there is about 8 random locations so far as i found.

The easiest way to get the flare is to let the mutants take you, this way you get to go to the cave and get extra stuff

thats for the body of the plane as well, ive crashed landed right on the edge of the beach, ive crashed landed on a cliff side as well as deep in the forest.

No easiest way for flare is under the floating boat. Just swim against the boat it will bring you underwater then youll see it on the ocean floor and will grab it.

Yes but you have to find the boat first and it helps if you crash land right in front of the beach, i once landed on a cliffside and it took me 10-15 minutes to get to the boat location(i know my way around) so in a situation like that i may as well save time and let the cannibals take me but not without a fight though.

The wording of one of Skunkie's tweets suggested to me that you may even get a spawn that doesn't have a cockpit on the map at all. I thought this was weird, since the pilots are two of the 130 passengers you have to find.

I think in my case the cockpit didnt spawn, i just found the pilots without anything (no chairs and no flare gun, nothing). It seems to be possible to find all passengers anyways.

The boat-method doesn't work anymore i think. Cause for me an a whole lot other people wich started a new game in 0.4 experienced the problem of no boat spwaning ....

I had no trouble finding the boat in 0.04 with a new game(maybe just got lucky), I crashed on the other side of the Island from it ran straight across to the beach and there it was on the left side of the west beach. Also, for me, the flare gun has always spawned on the bow of the yacht since a0.03 came out. I've never found the cockpit or the pilots, but I haven't really looked for them either though.

The boat also has a random location spawning on it now I think, that's why some people think it's not there

i know several boat locations, the problem now is just i cant seem to find that damn thing its just not there ... trust me ive surroundet the island completly

nope. its not there on the game I'm playing now. ran the whole waterfront.
