Difference between Alpha, Beta and Release!!!
This is for all idiots who dont understand whats is a ALPHA-GAME... like #Bi-Winning

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_life_cycle

Alpha

The alpha phase of the release life cycle is the first phase to begin software testing (alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet, used as the number 1). In this phase, developers generally test the software using white box techniques. Additional validation is then performed using black box or gray box techniques, by another testing team. Moving to black box testing inside the organization is known as alpha release.[2]

Alpha software can be unstable and could cause crashes or data loss. External availability of alpha software is uncommon in proprietary software. However, open source software, in particular, often have publicly available alpha versions, often distributed as the raw source code of the software. The alpha phase usually ends with a feature freeze, indicating that no more features will be added to the software. At this time, the software is said to be feature complete.

Counter-Trolling and insults aren't productive.

You cannot change people. They did not read the warning label on the store page, they will not read this. Ignorance and misonception are hard to admit in the face of ego and bravado.

Simply stop participating in the arguments. This is a recent lesson I've had learn myself lol. It's alot less stressful to just ignore it and stop beating your head against that wall. Again, it's all for not; You're not going to change anyone.

A defination of alpha is all good. Question is, should you pay for it. I am all for kickstarting projects. It is a good way of getting investing money for a project. Many projects like this would not work without it. And steam, kickstaring it a perfect way of getting this.

What I am sceptic to is the way these project is heading. I know it is alpha etc. But you do excpect some things out of a product.

i see these things as an investment thing. As should the developers. They should have a clear communications with the inverstors. They show a product and it should act like it. What I have read, it hasnt. Save isnt working. Not the biggest problem in the world. But it seems alot of problem have problem even starting this game. This is not ok. You watch the publicity things for this game which is the trailers and you love it, then you invest, and it doesnt work.

Consumer feedback is a big thing in investment. They need to be more active in the community. Answer questions, let people know that their investment wasnt a waste. I know theey are ony four people.

I know this is a long answer to a thread. But think it is important. I see so many people defending "The Forest" that is an pre-alpha. Pre alpha means alot of things. But it doesnt mean that you advertise your game with videos with full game play and then it wont even start on alot of peoples computers.

Pre-alpha doesnt mean you are immune to false advertisment. Especially when it comes to an investment project.¨

I am sure they will solve these problems. I just want some more transparency to it.
