Advice to reduce lag?
i7 6gb ram and a geforce 610m windows 8.1, I run rust, dayz and pretty much every other game on high settings and dont lag but even with everyting on low I still get horrible fps. I know its not very well optimized yet but is there any thing I can do to crank out more fps?

i turn the settings all the way down, then turn down resolution. gets a lot better (still a little lag when fighting though) this what i have found works best for me.

Try going into task manager while your game is running and selecting the 'Details', right click on the game and change the priority to 'Realtime'. Close task manager and go back into your game. That helped a lot when I had a non gaming PC. :)

Do you have an Nvidia GPU? There are certain Nvidia graphics cards that arent supported at the moment. But will be later on.

You're probably running integrated graphics. Here's a link that should help you need to change from intergrated graphics to your gpu. You may need to find the The Forest file it in your speamapps - common folder.
