How do you install mods?

There is a mod i just found called Templars Mod and I want to get it, but i don't know how, nor where to find it. Any help?

Templar's mod stopped being developed a while ago... I'm pretty sure it doesn't work with the current version anymore, you should try a different mod.

Yes, it works with the newest version. Compatibility says otherwise, though it works just the same.

i downloaded it, but i do not know how to install it. I BS'd my way trying to install it and it did not work, i threw in a lot of random files i saw, i made a backup save so the Data is okay, just i do not know how to install it

Just extract all the files to one location then run it the ModAPI. From there you can select what mods you want, what keys they're bound to, etc. Make sure to click "Play" in the ModAPI menu to launch the game with the mods.

Won't run on the new update, wrong version and can't find any information about what to put in the version file to make it work. Useless Google.
I only wanted it to remove treehouses that are all bugged, they have no tree now!

the ModAPI is wanting me to Restore Files, i click it and it still wont work, so i close out of the Restore Files thing and just try and start the game, it says Error while applying mods.
