Creepy Screams and Strange Noises

I was just cutting down the trees around my shack and i heard a scream in the distance that totaly creeped my out...It didn't sounded like the one that cannibals do :D Any suggestions?

That was a cannibal, they got over 200 new sounds. Some sounds are random and some sounds are scripted like: Sound A called "We need help" -> More cannibals are coming. Sound B called "Fall Back". Sound C called "We found fire/buildings - player is here".... Some sounds are just random, just for creepy/horror feelings. I noticed the sound for "more help" - more cannibals, so If I hear it in my near, I will running back or in cover. :)

But yeah if you go to the north, snowy area, you'll hear a rather unique noise up there at night. You won't hear it on the main island. It's pretty creepy. I remember when I first spent the night there. I was terrified. ;u; Not sure if that noise still pops up though. Been a while since I actually stayed up the whole night.

Think there's like a info thread that states which noise means what and all? 'u' Would be useful!

More communication between cannibals now. One seems to be a warning, another a challenge, another anger, and one for 'help'. Not sure though, as I'm usually busy concentrating on just knowing whether or not there is danger near me! I'm trying to identify the situations I'm in when I hear a particular sound. Or it could be that I'm getting into the booze early. The last night I was trying to sleep in Snowy forest and heard some scary noise. I went outside several times and looked around for Virginia since it kind of sounded like her and I wanted a running start if I saw her! But I didn't see anything, and then the wind started blowing and I just backed int the corner with my clothed plane axe and my lighter! All night!

I have a go to safety maneuver when I hear something like that. I tend to lay down on my back. Then I break my bottom ribs. Once those are out of the way, I stick my head between my legs, puck up my lips, and then kiss my ass goodbye.

If you think the scream is non-cannibal, then it should be one of the passengers being "tortured" or something else...usually the passengers' screams will be heard at night, and it can be differentiated due to the difference of their sounds

I have never heard passernger screams at night though. D: Is there a link or video someone can show me how they sound? Been trying to catch them but so far no luck.

The new sounds are great. I like it when they just park somewhere outside my camp and just wail all night, the mutant women sound a LOT more creepy now too.

I think we need audio for when they're close now too, though. I never hear them "talking" to each other except from long ranges. Even the occasional cannibalish would be nice when creeping along behind them in the forest.

Along with everything mentioned it's worth noting that the mutant cannibals also have their own unique sounds; quite different from normal cannibal noises and a clear warning to stay away if you're not prepared.

Bastards can be sneaky though!! One snuck up behind me without making a single noise, I turned around and it was 5 feet away from me and made me jump out of my skin!!

Their new sounds are a lot more effective too, though. Love the effort the devs are putting in, this is the kind of stuff people ignore when they complain about co op taking away attention from the main game... The devs are improving the overall experience every time they update!

I've heard the deer scream when I killed it. The random scream I occasionally hear at night sounds almost the same.

I know it scared the sh!t outta me too!!! i was chopping a tree i needed for my constructions.... and Boom!!!!, Cannibal was Jumping my ass after he creeped on me.... only way i heard that fool was the Grass and Bushes shift very close without wind.... i almost sh!t and jumped out of my seat!!!! Remember!! Listen to the grass and bushes move if you don't want to be scared sh!tless like me.... man my heart was pounding.... Not that i mind but damn the rush.... I was sleepy and the adrenaline kept me awake half of the night... on a work day

Could never actually find exactly what it was. Every time the sound was made i went hunting in that direction. Only time ive ever seen anything like that was this clip here.
