Twinkling lights in distance at night?

I've noticed every night in game that there are little blips of light on the horizon. They aren't patrols with lights, I have seen those and they look different. They happen so quick I can't get screenshots and they seem to be random. I don't think they're the glowing of pick up able objects either. I can't find anything about them in the wikis. Any ideas what they are?

I have seen lights at night relating to reflections off waterfalls, i believe. Not entirely sure tho. It's scary at night. :P

i was thinking it might be edges of the map clipping and loading but it happens even when i stand still.

Well it certainly isn't the cannibals. I went into veganmode earlier this week and I still saw the lights.
I think too it's some kind of clipping or glitchy something.

I do believe the larger animal eyes (I.e. pigs and deer) reflect light, but I've never actually paid attention enough to test.

I've noticed it on waterfalls\wet rocks will 'twinkle' in the moonlight, even at the furthest draw distance

I usually see them from the top of the trees though. Kinda creepy. xD It pops up for like a split second and then goes away. Could just be the light reflection since the moon is always moving (slowly but yeah..).

I was playing and I noticed stars twinkle, is that maybe what you're talking about? Maybe it's airplanes or something, idk.
