Dear devs: What exactly is up with the effigies?
What exactly is the purpose of the effigies, as intended? Are they just useless burning decoration? Are they meant to deter the cannibals from attacking? I read the wiki, i'm just not sure if this is intentional or not.

The Effigies do scare or keep mutants at bay up to certain distances. These are most effective when placed at your entrances, or holes in your defenses, This keeps them out of its radius, but doesn't stop them from finding their way around it.

This distance isn't a huge area (A few meters) and it doesn't scare them away completely. If you antagonize them they may attack you regardless of their presence.

Seems there's more utility in cannibalising the cannibals at this point. Those buggers are tasty.

Custom Effigies. You can put torsos in custom effigies. Pick up the torso and carry it over to the effigy.

Thing is, devs.....wouldn't killing one of them to make an effigy cause them to be antagonized?

I more so meant attacking the individual or a member of a patrol at the time while it is lit, will cause those mutants to potentially attack back, and charge you even in the Effigy's radius. They will usually back out of it though.

This, basically.

Actually, there seems to be an overall problem with Cannibal A.I. Once they see me, they pretty much never actually LEAVE, no matter what. They'll occasionally back off for a few seconds, then run back.

Custom effigies are great. I attached the head of a cannibal to his own a$$. A lovely welcome for the rest of his family, don't you think?
