new stealth icon and questions

so i periodically return to this game. let me start by explaining that i have two kids and work. so my game time is limited. I'm sure some testing would answer many of my questions but i just haven't had time and can't find answers on the online. the first addition I've noticed and liked is the stealth icon when crouched. but I'm having difficulty understanding how it works. is it reactive to whether I'm currently seen, or just how visible i potentially am? it appears the longer the line though the eye, the more hidden i am... but i don't know if this is reactive to the cannibals actually viewing me or not. I'm also having a tough time surviving more than a couple days. I'm sure there are many factors to this but any (updated and relevant to current patch) tips are appreciated! love the game and future potential, as well as consistent playability through the patches :)

The eye is in regards to how hidden you are. It will only activate if you are crouched, and increases at night, if you are in bushes, covered in mud, wearing stealth armor, and away from lights. You will also be more visible if you bring out your lighter or move. If cannibals have spotted you, the eye will not appear, because you can't stealth once they've spotted you (unless you get lucky).

What exactly is causing you to die in a couple days? A few things to do is when you crash, immediately loot the suitcases around the plane (should take you max 3 minutes). Once you have done that immediately get away from the crash, as cannibals will start to make their way towards it. You can combine Aloe and Marigold to make medicine if you run out of medicine bottles.

thank you. i need to learn the medicine aspects then that will help. usually day two or three I'm building walls and traps and am attacked by 4 or 5 guys, often with one of the guys with arms on his back, occasionally a guy with a torch. even if i kill them i use up considerable amount of resources, and it's down hill from there. again I've been playing very casually though and I'm sure I'm not doing a lot of things i should or could.

All you really need to fight is a stick upgraded with cloth to light on fire and hit the cannibals. If you upgrade the stick with 30 feathers it becomes the fastest melee weapon in the game, faster than even the katana, and it becomes a simple matter of blocking and counterattacking with the burning upgraded stick. Only use the upgraded stick if you have cloth to set it on fire because the actual melee damage without the fire damage is very very low. If you need cloth the main cannibal village is a huge respawning resource of cloth.

yeah I've used the burning stick a couple times it does great. been stingy with my cloth though since its also used for rope, and honestly i have no idea how the respawn mechanics work. i used to have new suit cases each time i started the game but that changed at some point. information seems especially sparse for this game.the one game i have all the questions about! i really appreciate all the feedback though
