It's your intel card buddy. It's realllllllllly bad. I know it may have a lot of VRAM but, Intel HD GPU's are generally really bad for gaming and many games don't even support the card.

Battlefield isn't 4 patches past its first ever alpha release.

Download my Unofficial Patch and play with Minimum Graphics mode enabled

I kind of understand it's the alpha, so i haven't been insulting the game. just want a few tips to get it to run smoother. I'll probably have a fiddle with settings tonight

Buy a better computer.

Yeah right now you're basically at a stand still until optimization becomes more fluid. Play with the settings as you said and see if you can find a good config.

lol i built this computer a few weeks ago. the integrated graphics is not the best but it matchs all the requirements for crysis 3 so it cant be that bad. i got it to the point where its playable but ill just wait until the next patch comes out then try again =}.

That's the spirit I just had a new computer myself ordered arriving in 2 days. I have to play on minimal settings now but with my new computer, and a great gaming computer at that so I hope to play at better graphics and get the full experience but even with that you should be able to play on minimal settings or download someone's unofficial graphics patch for now. and see what happens

Honestly man you need to upgrade that GPU. You can buy a fairly decent GPU for not a whole lot of money and get a lot better performance compared to that integrated card. Integrated cards are honestly not meant for gaming.

i do plan on building an official gaming computer soon, this was meant to be a media pc. ill link you a site so you can get an idea of how small it is. http://www.intel.com.au/content/www/au/en/nuc/nuc-kit-d54250wykh.html but as intel marketed it as a gaming machine i've been testing it. Next up is killing floor.

Hey, my HD4400 does plenty fine in all the games in my library. The Forest 0.04 is the first game Ive tried other than Star Citizen that grinds it. And yours is better! The Forest is badly optimized as they are still adding to the graphical engine. I just wish they would link the settings to those in the options when they add new stuff!
yeh integrated intel hd graphics is not for gaming... its more for HD media etc.... you say it meets crysis 3's specs but i doubt you could run crysis 3 smoothly even on the lowest settings and as for BF4 its a console game, if the consoles can run it a mediocre pc should as well. Basically you have no graphics card and most games require a graphics card. i only have a 2nd generation i3 dual core but i have a nice graphics card... its all smooth gaming for me :-) Did you build this pc for gaming? the lack of a graphics card was a major oversight there if it was. With the integrated graphics you are best sticking to older games ike half life 2 or left 4 dead 2 :-) Unoptimised graphically intensive alpha games are not really a realistic option in your case. Not a bad thing tho, means you have an excuse to buy a nice graphics card for gaming to unleash the true potential of r rig ;-)

ahh really? interesting. yeah it's the first Fps game ive run on it so i wouldn't know. yeah but its still in construction, cant wait to play it properly and be able to chop off some arms and see the animals walk straight lol.

"matches requirements for crysis 3"...i have bad news for you. inteh d5000 is ♥♥♥♥, simple as that. take 150-200 euro and get a 760 or 660 with 5 times the power of the intel.

People really REALLY need to drop this stigma. Ever since Intel released the Haswell based technology, which gave practically double performance from the HD graphics chips, integrated does not always mean its crap!
http://www.pcworld.com/article/2037038/intels-haswell-gets-massive-graphics-performance-boost.html

While they are still nothing compared to a dedicated card, the high end (like HD 5000 on Haswell) are definately gameable cards
