How do you craft rope?

I am trying to craft rope so I add the cloth to the crafting mat then this gear looking thing pops up so I added cloth till it was full, however it won't allow me to choose any of the 3 items listed what am I missing?

Just cloth. If you already have 4 rope in your inventory it wont let you craft more.

I am on day one I have next to nothing but just like I said I add cloth till the gear is full but then what am I supposed do cause it won't let me choose the rope or the other 2 under it I simply don't know what I am doing wrong is their a certain key I need to press to finish the crafting recipe?
Everytime I run asearch it seems to only find posts from like 2014 and I Am sure they are likely outdated information at this point.

Ah. Once the gear in the center of the crafting mat completely forms, just right click it. The drop down menu is nothing more than showing you what can be made with whatever materials you are using at the time. If the gear is full just right click and it will produce one of the items listed.

Can I ask you another question? I found the sailboat and I swam to it and looted it. I've got these air canisters and every time I left click one it vanishes it doesn't fall down or anything just poof and gone.The reason I left clicked it casue it said L to recharge. I am guessing that I need the rebreather for that function, but I wonder why it vanishes do you think it's a bug that should be reported?

Its sort of a bug, it really shouldnt disappear if its not been used to recharge the rebreather...its been that way for so long they've likely forgotten about it and a reminder wouldn't hurt.

Ok thanks I discoverd another issue I am having is lack of cloth. Do the suitcases respawn with more cloth or is their another way to obtain more cloth or craft more cloth?
