I heard they may add that mountain in the background to the playable area down the road. I was super excited and hope this is true. I for one love how the game looks right now but feel like diversity in climate would be nice. Such as adding the mountain into the game. Making the cold weather places affect your character more. Add less animals in the mountain. Harder to survive.
Even cooler would be to add a place beyond the mountain. An icy tundra. In an eternal blizzard. Make it nearly impossible to survive. Extreme cold, almost no animals. No way of knowing which way to go. But have something cool to be there so it isn't for nothing. Make it a place where only the greatest survivors will go. A place few return from. Just my ideas.

It's definitely a good idea. They are going to be adding the mountain area for sure in the future, they have covered this multiple times in previous update discussions.

I also hope they will add different biomes to the game, and I can't imagine them not doing it. I hope there are bears and Mtn Lions on that side of the river eventually, and even snow fall both on the mountains AND on the island. It's not strictly a tropical area.

Perhaps most of all, I really hope they add the option to craft a bow and arrow kit. It would have been the first thing that I biult irl.

I don't want to get too many different biomes, just the forest and the mountain would be fine. If you start adding more, it isn't The Forest anymore. It's The Forest...with 10 other environments... I'm hoping the Mountain is a desolate place, with few resources and maybe some predators that even the cannibals don't mess with, making it a harder place to settle, but more rewarding if you can manage it.

I want to scale to the top of that mountain, use my bombs to blow off the tip and create a level section, then build a watchtower to rule over the forest. I'd love to see the mutants try to get to me!

The game is called the forest. For one thing. Secondly the cannibals are already not scary as they should be. Now people want big forts, guns, and biomes. Way to ruin something special and make it mine craft you loud mouth punks.

HAHAHA someone forgot to put there panties on before they walked on the beach!

Hoenstly though, the dev's have already talked about a lot of the features to come for this game. The Mountains, different biomes, new monsters, animals, diseases are all to come.

This game hasn't even begun to take shape, it's little more than a demo at this point so "changing" the game from one "genre" to another is a ridiculous statement at best because it's not done, and down right ignorant at least to assume you know what the finished product will be like.

Everyone just calm down. And have fun playing and talking about what *might* be.
