If I have 4 rabbits in a cage, is there a chance to produce 2 rabbits in that cage in 1 night?

I read on the wiki that up to 7 rabits per cage and of course 2 rabbits in the same cage to do the horizontal dance. But the rabbits I have in the cages don't seem to do anything. I've tried giving them privacy, tried staying near them but not watch them, I even took an upgraded stick and beat a melody on the wall that sounded a bit like a Barry White song, but the rabbits just aren't making with the magic.

I wonder if it's broken mechanic.

I've been trying to get the rabbits to do it over multiple playthroughs now but no luck in any of them.

I wonder if the mechanic was working once before, or if this is a future feature that's not fully implemented yet, similar to the Sanity system?

They have a chance to breed every time you sleep. You may have to sleep a lot before yo get results. Cheapest way to to do it is to sleep and then reload your save. If they breed after you slept, save the game. If they didn’t breed, keep reloading your save and sleeping until they breed.

10% chance, so if you have 10 cages & 20 rabbits that should suffice.

I built a rabbit farm starting with 6 rabbits in 3 cages. Every couple days Id check on them, they started out slow but eventually they were breeding like rabbits.

Build a farm with some 20 or so cages, place two rabbits in each and you'll have new rabbits after every sleep.
