repair walls?
can you rebuild parts of a long wall?
like your defence wall got a part smacked in could you rebuild that part like how it was before or need to rebuild it fully?

no not like that. lets say we got a gate house.

i use the normal door walls to use as my gate house.
get a wall then the door then wall again right. if they just smash that door enough it will break so can i rebuild that door or rebuild the full wall.
i remember i couldn't rebuild stuff. like i would have to build a new wall to match up with the old one.

Yeah you would have to put another blueprint in and align it as best as you can.

thats stupid... i thought they would of made it that you could rebuild the wall how it use to be by now.

Well there is no reason to add something like this since you can use repair tool ;d

yeah but what if you build a huge wall of 1000 or 2000 logs or stones then a big thing comes along and smash it down or a bomb gets thrown and land abit wrong and hitt a part.
i seen it happen before on hard you see the army of normal human like attackers then they all hit it once with a team of 5 and there goes your "defence wall" then need to fix it with a new wall not rebuild the old wall.

Mutants can't break stone wall tho :D
And you aren;t supposed to use wood wall once you meet mutants ;d
About explosive... Stop game with ESC if singleplayer and disable building destruction.

The ghost of wall after it is destroyed would frustrate people.

It is rather annoying if a part of your base falls. Sometimes you can't reconstruct it how it was because blueprints are able to overlap each other but you can't overlap an existing structure.

It would be a lot more convenient if some structures when destroyed turned into some rubble or debris that could then be either removed or repaired with the repair hammer in to a blueprint, which then requires the original materials to fully reconstruct it.

yeah thats what i mean.
it dont matter if its a gate house or wall or house. if someone says they never had any problems with that in a save of 100-200d days long then they lie.
it takes about 5 or so hits to break the "normal wood wall" but once you get in a game of like 100 or 150 days then they just come in big groups or the big ones come.
you could say that you need to build defence lines but yeah. atleast let them be connecting to the old wall but you cantt even do that.

also the defence things aren't all the good. like the catapult great idea but once you place it abit up like a watch tower then you cant really see very well where you aim if its some what close.
i mean it be logic to put that high up so you could shoot far but yeah.

The way the walls are grouped together is by small independent sections consisting of 5 logs and their seamless connection makes the wall look like a single entity. When one section is destroyed, the others don't "know" it and therefore can't provide a new ghost or a fix feature. You have to build it manually and align it as best you can.
