climbing rope to get up hills?

Hello all, started a new game on normal, been a while since I last played and "finished" the game.

In my new game, I'm making a base at that small freshwater pond near the big old tree Southeast of the Sinkhole. If you know the area, you know there's a cliff leading down to another pond in the direction of the Sinkhole. In my last game, I made some wood stairs up and down that cliff, which was very tedious, esp. since cannibals and (eventually) mutants are nearby and love the sound of chopping wood. Does anyone know, can I place a climbing rope somewhere on the edge of that cliff, so I can easily climb up if I'm approaching from the sinkhole direction?

use the custom platform i think it is, it should auto change to attach to side of cliff unless they patched that out, you used to could put them on the white tress but i think they changed that

Thanks. I experimented with a few different things like custom platform, but the way those particular rocks are shaped, I can't find a position where the rope goes to the bottom instead of into the rock wall.
