Mouse cursor moves to 2nd monitor while trying to play game... game breaking issue

My friend and I picked up the forest and have been playing for past few days. One of the most infuriating issues we've encountered is while playing the mouse cursor apparently can go (invisibly) onto our 2nd monitors and when we click it minimizes the game....

We've been gaming for 20+ years... and using dual monitors for a large portion of those years and this issue almost never happens. It is absolutely a GAME problem and not a "your computer" problem.

Seriously, were the devs unable to constrain the mouse to the game window while playing? Did they forget to bother with this? Or is there a magical fix for The Forest? Because this issue does not happy with 99% of other games.

No idea what that is? This can be reproduced by TWO people on two completely different machines, different hardware, different software, different keyboards, different mice....

Happens 100% of the time. If we alt+tab to look at a webpage... go back into the game , start looking around, if we move the mouse far enough it will go off the game monitor onto the 2nd one.

It's as if the mouse is still active even if you're looking around in the game and attacking, and if you look far enough it will go off the screen and screw you over.

Game breaking and annoying as hell if you can imagine.

You need to click the icon on the task bar to get back into your game, alt tabbing wont work.
And then once you are back in game open/close your inventory and it will be contained.

If you alt tab to get back into the game, the open/close of the inventory will not contain the mouse. Only clicking the icon on the task bar to get back in will work.

If you are unable to click on your icon in the task bar, try right clicking somewhere on the 2nd monitor and then you should be able to click the icon again after that.

I had that problem too
what helped with me was when I tabbed back into the game press esc and click on continue
that fixed it for me

Thanks for the suggestions. Honestly, this should no be an issue in the first place but it's good to hear there are a few workarounds available.

How about for man eater? Got a fox for this game? I am even using this Dual Monitor Tools now because of this game constantly throwing my mouse over to one of my other two screens and even with this in place locking my mouse to this main screen it will then pull up the task bar of windows at some points and still mess up. I don’t have this happen with any other games often. Although cs2 will sometimes throw itself onto my other monitor and that’s just cancer.

I wish this would fix it. This only fixes when the controls get bugged from the screen getting thrown about from the mouse going to another monitor. This doesn’t solve the curser going to another monitor. That there is the whole issue and the root of all my problems with this game.

Game had a lot of issues, this one was game breaking for us. Even if they fix the mouse problems I don't think the core design decisions would change my opinions much...

This shouldnt be a problem that can``t be fixed and I don`t know why some games wont let me play normally with two monitors. But that video on my link might help in some situations as a quick fix. But i do still find this problem annoying in only one game: Far cry 6.
