why pedometer?

just found the pedometer, is it just so you can know when you can get the achievement of walking a distance or does it have a useful purpose for being in the game?

well other then not getting/ finding the map i guess could use it to pace count to try not to get lost lol

when it first came out it was a great way for people in long worldsaves of multiple hundreds of days to be able to brag :P

I will say that a couple of times I used it for building, was good to estimate distances: "ok, I'll take 20 paces then set down this next Rock Wall" etc.

I also use the compass like this for building, for reference
