Infinite fire pit

I've put a fire pit in my base in a solo game, and it has never been destroyed, even though I have re-lit it dozens of times. Is this a bug?

Depends on which one of the existing you build.
Since you said you lit it several times, it cant be a signalfire, so theres not much choices left.
When you have seven stones around it, everything is ok.
If its only made of sticks, the first one to choose, you can say you have a bugexperience.

So the fire pit (with stones) has infinite uses? The wiki says otherwise

The stone firepit does but doesn't have infinite uses. It does have a set number of times it can be lit, but that number tends to reset each time that session is relaunched. basically, whenever you reload your save you get a new firepit and it does have a fair amount of uses so burning it all the way down doesn't happen too often unless you have a long session (like you would likely go through a few firepits if you're running circles around your firepit at night to get the stepmaster achievement).
