(edit, I linked their steam urls, but I guess steam didn't like that for some reason? maybe just go through my friends list( or just click reply on this post and the urls show back up for me, hopefully for everyone else too))
you could also even just check out what I've built :P
excuse me? you can build so big in the forest it's almost not worth mentioning the limit, I've only known like 5 people (myself included) to have reached the build limit
how so?
It's a free pretty fun survival game almost exactly like the forest except it's a minecraft/roblox looking game with A LOT of mods you can get. I would really recommend playing it with a friend on a nice server without 12 year old squeakers raiding your base.

and there like some annoying monster want to destory your base? no but it people instead REAL people and I understand that REAL people will mess up your base like REAL people

7 Days to Die is a good game for complex building if you like killing zombies too. However, it can require a beast PC to play high quality smoothly and not low quality with occasional frame skips.

Then there is Raft, but its building on a floating "Raft" obviously, but with a survival element lol.

The latest update i didnt personally like, as it made it massively harder. I know before someone says, "Get gud" lol, i just liked the zombies as they were. Before the changes, people would go mining overnight or get up some where high and wait the night out as the AI didnt know how to get to you other than circle around you. Now with better AI changes, they dig down to were you are mining or break blocks to create steps up to get to you. Also some of the health and damage changes were annoying... BUT just to let you know. What you can do is play older released versions which is good for if you want nostalgia or you dont like the new version, so want to play the old one. I have both alpha 16 and the new 17 installed to play, which you can also try out. Ask if you want to know how to do that, otherwise have fun.
7 Days got a complete graphics overhaul in A17 (about 5 months ago), you should check it out again, it looks much better. Of course with it being a VOXEL engine, it is always going to demand a fairly hefty CPU.
As for purpose....the purpose is to survive, right? I actually dislike survival games that have a story and an end. Such as The Forest, lol. I have played about 200 hours of this game and never once had the inclination to advance the story. 7 Days has more purpose than most such games. Every 7 nights an increasingly large zombie horde will attack you. You are basically spending the 6 days in between hordes preparing for the next one. Gathering and producing ammo, adding further base-defences, etc etc. If that isn't purpose I do not know what is.
7600K can handle t days to die?
I get acceptable frame drops when entering a bigger building with many sleepers waking up and on horde nights. But nothing too critical.
Graphic options pretty much maxed, except some reflection stuff and motion blur wich is annoying anyway
