Cant find Deer anywhere

I have been playing 25 hours and havent seen a single deer. I've been all over te island and have searched extensively through the ares that The Forest map indicates has deer. I dont care about armor. I just really really need a water skin for cave exploring. Any1 have any thoughts?

Im running aronud like an idiot looking for deer. Still nothing. a bug maybe?

I've found some deer on the near the south coast cliffs (a bit east of the southern-most big tree on The Forest Map website), and I killed two more deer today - one on the south-west beach (just a tad north of the big peninsula with the big tree), and one just inside the woods that I chased down from said-beach.

I had to hang around the area a bit before I found them/they spawned.

Deep in the forest near waterholes i found tons of deer. And they are actuyll pretty easy to hunt when you build a stonewall around a spawning point of them ;)

Also right ton top of the canibal houses at the beach at the bottom of the mountain, right under the snowy part, there can be found deers near waterholes.

I have Deer runnig about on all parts of the map that I have visited so far.

I build choke points with walls and fires, as they don't jump over walls and often run into the fires and die so when i return from logging I often find a meal waiting (I discovered this by accident).

Near the sinkhole there are alot of animals for example deers, racoons and bunnies.

Cool thx for the help and ideas! The thing is that Ive been through most of those areas pretty extensively and hadnt seen a deer in more than 25 hrs of play. Then all of a sudden last night they started showing up to the NW of the cockpit. Now they're all over the map and I see them all the time. So weird.
Problem solved apparently. It's cool though because it sort of forced me to really explore the map early and get a feel for the island.
