2. It has a great original plot tbh
3. Pointless endless but it actually has an end to it (P.S. look for the giant crater)
Maybe when console and vr is looking polished enough we might see some new content of assume
Because of the contextual nature of the hints there is also some debate among the community about the finer details of the plot that you can find, like when each respective group arrived to the forest and what exactly happened to them but even that isn't necessary to understand in order to complete the game. It's just fun for some to debate those points. If you aren't that into those little hints the only plot you actually need to care about is the "find your son" stuff.
MP is basically just SP with co-op...to such an extent that not all mechanics are well incorporated for multiple players. The host is technically "the player" in mp, so some achievements won't trigger for clients but will trigger for the host and vice versa (host might get serial killer on the same server that others get pacifist on for example, since the kills count towards the host), aggression increases based on all player interactions not player by player, and certain actions require all players to engage in them simultaneously (like sleeping or doing the ending).
Story, item placement, map, etc all remain identical to SP. The biggest change is in death really, in SP the player gets drug away to a cave on (first) death, in MP you drop to your knees and others can pick you up, you will respawn at the plane if no one picks you up and you have to go retrieve your backpack from wherever you died to get your stuff back.
