Can i play The Forest on Laptop?
dear good people, i want to ask about The Forest..

i want to buy this game, but for now i only play games on my laptop (Sony S Series).

from the minimum requirements mentioned. Only my graphics card may be inadequate. The graphics card on my laptop only uses integrated graphics Intel (R) HD Graphics 4000.

can i play this game? even though I know that I will not get the best visuals with the specifications I have.

thanks for your good answer.. sorry if my english are so bad :)

Maybe? Playing anything on a laptop is very hit and miss tbh.

Edit: Just noticed your graphics card, no way will you be able to play anything.

Well to be fair, my old XP laptop with an integrated chipset like that could still run Half Life 1 and gldsource games...

I'm more wondering how in the world it can run windows 10.

Well, to be precise, it wouldn't be accurate to say "no way will you be able to play anything." There are quite a lot of undemanding games he can play, even with integrated graphics. My daughter plays dozens of Steam games on a Windows 10 tablet in fact, which isn't even a real laptop.

The bad news is...no, you will not be able to play The Forest with this setup.

why not sir? or maybe i am lucky because it running smoothly without any lag.. and i can play Dota 2, Call of Duty Modern Warfare series (have it on local storage because i buy the copies before using steam) Brink (local storage).. hehehe..

You should likely be able to run many modern games which aren't graphically demanding, and practically anything made before 2004-2005, especially if you tweak your Intel graphics settings by dedicating extra system memory. You just need to look for the right games and have realistic expectations.

I just said this in another thread but I will say it here as well in case you were wondering what kind of performance you can expect. My friend has an i3 @ 2.4 GHz, 8GB RAM, and intel hd 4000 GPU. He runs this game at 30 fps on the lowest settings at 720p resolution. Since you have an i5 @ 2.5 GHz, 4GB RAM, and intel hd 4000 I would think your laptop would perform similar to his.

I would still not get their hopes up, not after the horrible time I had when I had a laptop.

Anyone without your specific laptop can very likely not give you an exact answer, instead of just asking random people compare your actual specs: Can You RUN It?[www.systemrequirementslab.com].

While I agree that gaming on a laptop with integrated graphics is not the best experience I was just pointing out what kind of experience he can expect from someone with a similar system. Personally, I think 720p @ 30 fps and lowest settings is unplayable but my friend does not mind it at all. To each their own.

Listen give me any other game you can run and i'll say for you that you'll be able too play the forest or not

i play overwatch ultra 70 fps
and bf1 in ultra 30 fps
and bf4 in max 56 fps
and finaly THE FOREST!! 50 fps at max graphics

This is exactly what I expected. Besides the answer yes or no I need an answer that I can take as a way out. So I do not need to ask the same questions every time I want to buy games in steam.

I know if playing games on a laptop is not the best option. I also have a Desktop Computer but with low-end specifications and low-end graphics cards. Why I did not try to upgrade? because the price of graphics card here is not cheap. This is why I keep playing games even only using my laptop.

If this post is considered spam or even worse "im only a spammers". I think it is wrong. This is my first post in community hub's other than dota 2.
My previous posts in dota 2 community hub also always meant to ask.
This post I made purely because I need help and advices.

Thank you for all the answers you have given.
(once again.... im sorry if my english are bad)
