Custom building

Hi, i see lots of vids where people drag the custom floor or platform in a shape they want. All i get is a small pre-formed floor that i can only place. Tried pressing c to swith between auto and custom mode but doesn't seem to do anything... All help appriciated.

Usually, by hitting c (or q in my case) it's switching to manual placement mode, then you look at the first anchor point, click left mouse, move to the next point, left click and so on till you hit e to finish it.
But for some reason it's not working anymore. At least not for me. I think, it's just another mechanic that's been broken with the last few updates.

Yeah i bought the game few days ago and in all the vids they do it that way but i can't get it to do that. Pressed every key already... :( and changing to manual should be c-key in my case.

Well it switches and i can attach it to the first point where i want to start of, but that's it. No way to attach it to where i want it to be.

Hope it get's fixed because building is hard that way and expensive

did you try using the foundation tool, it comes with an attached floor. and after that is built it will allow you to put up walls for the whole area you defined and built with the foundation tool

Yeah that is the way i do it now, but wanted to make a bridge and couldn't build floors between 2 stone rocks. Maybe somethings changed in v1

Down thing with the foundations is, they're are way to expensive compared to some rock pillars and just a deck. Serves the same purpose plus you still have the space underneath them for other things. Really hope they'll fix it!

I'm still having problems with the custom flooring as well. I can only place 1 floor tile directly on the ground and that's it. Can't place anything on top of custom or standard walls, neither the manual or auto fill works for me. As it is I can't make multistory buildings.

you need something to anchor the floor to. like Walls. Placing mode "c" only works if there is something to stick it to

Darklighter i have the same problem. M.Red even with walls as anchor it won't let me do that. Tried stone and wooden walls. I tried everything so i only use foundation as floor which i can custom to my need. I seen it been done in many older vids but for me it is not working.
