Literally nothing. Everything you can craft is designed to raid other players bases and kill them. On a private server ther is literally no point in doing anything.
To OP - idk how it is in rust but in the forest you can easily host game, check that it is private (= only steam friends can join) set max players to 2 and just play. But remember both of you need to save at the shelter on multi.
Also if you like building then you will have good time with The Forest
(you can even disable enemies when they start to bother you)
As a side note. If if you want to host a Rust server, public or not, you will have to pay for it.
Or you mean those dedicated servers in the forest which you can freely download on steam?
