I'm not able to get any water to drink.

I've built a rainwater collector but it hasn't rained for five days. I also can't drink out of any ponds for some reason, no matter how long I try to.

Is there something I'm missing?

Sometimes (most of the time)... [always] the ponds somehow bug out. Just stick around it for a while trying to look at it from different positions, different angles, try deeper or near the edge... the icon should appear after while. Also try using metal pot to collect water from the pond.

it seems that with last update the point has changed where you normaly was drinking -
simple go now a bit more away from water and teh lips should appear
also i got a good result from boats/rafts/rocks at water.

The easiest thing is to look for deer, they almost always spawn near the airplane. Get two deer hides and craft a water skin first. Then you can fill it up easy, and it makes your rainwater last longer. You can also eat berries to slake your thirst so make a pouch too.

Yeah I just ended up making a waterskin and it's been much more convenient. Thanks for the answers guys.

I haven't been able to use the pot to get water, is the icon for that in a weird place now as well?

The waterpot can be filled in a pond simply by equipping it and jumping in. Once you have to swim it fills with water. You can put it back in your inventory without spilling. If it's not clean water you have to boil it. :)

Getting in the water with the pot equipped doesn't fill it. I ended up finding a spot where it would let me press E to fill it at one particular pond. I still can't get any out of the other ones.

Getting water in a pot is a very good way to get water ,but I think the pot is difficultly to get.:)

The one next to anchor always spawns there (It's close to yacht) so not that hard

i have a water collector on my boat, that way I can also jump to the roof. It is very useful, have a waterskin too and you can survive a long time. If water collectors arent working for you, you can always go at camp sites or cannibal camps and find a pot, go up to any body of water (not sure about oceans) and equip it, hold C to fill it up then cook it and you have clean water.

Well OP problem was that there is no collect icon ("hold C to fill it up" won't appear if no icon)

Anyway OP did you try to verify game files yet?
