Katana vs Modern Axe

Katana: fast and with nice damage but no block at all.
Modern Axe: Good damage kinda slow and a almost perfect block.
Now, which one is better in most cases?

Modern axe kills things faster for me, but recently I've been finding the machete ENTIRELY covered in booze pretty good as well. It's more damaging than the katana, only SLIGHTLY slower to the point where it isn't noticeable, and the only downside I find to it is the somewhat low range. But for the modern axe, I like setting it on fire and getting charged hits in, really useful against mutants. Just gotta be careful.

Someone finally shares the same sentiment. I love the glass upgraded machete so much, my main weapon.

If you play on hard survival mode you can`t kill any enemy because when you fight for example 1v3 you will kill 1 guy very long and you'll run out of stamina and other guys just kill you
use bow or modern bow if you have good fps and kill mutants with spears or crossbow
But in normal mode you can use katana if you want

I prefer modern axe over katana. The modern axe accepts upgrades to either be really fast which can be good with its knockdown capabilities and cutting trees, really strong and just dish out a lot of damage, or have balanced out damage and speed.

The katana just feels too weak to me, it has great range and speed for keeping cannibals away but the damage sucks. However, a katana is pretty damn good when you have maxed out strength but that will take a while.

If you're careful and use better weapons, that won't happen, even without ranged.

Yes maybe but it still long on hard survival kill aborigines with melee weapon
I think best weapon it`s bow or modern bow for just avoid atacks and this is fast
Mutants can be killed in different ways like spears crossbow or flintlock pistol and other ways

I actually prefer the clubs that are dropped from those naked ♥♥♥♥♥ with compact discs as their necklaces. Those blocks are real solid 100 and deal a high amount of damage too. I also like to mix upgraded spear with molly for damage with range. You should try it too :D

I find the club that the chief drops (when you kill him) extremely good and effective. Especially when you add glass to it from the booze bottles. Yes it’s a bit slow but one or two knocks and they go down, no messing. Well recommended.

When I actually have to fight melee, I like using the upgraded spear a lot. Keeps them at arms length and in caves their erratic movements tend to make fighting 1v1 not too hard. But when that doesn't work I do bust out the katana for raw speed. At the end of the day my fighting style doesn't use blocking much so it isn't worth the loss in speed for me.
