Fisherman Achievement

I'm going for all achievements in this game yet there is one giving me trouble, Fisherman. I have had traps set up like this for days yet the fish never seem to get caught yet I see them swimming in here all the time constantly going through and all around the traps.

I've looked up other discussions and from what I've read it just takes a stupidly long time, is that true and are my traps set up fine enough to get this achievement.

I did this one at the small pond near the yacht location and build three traps in it. First you have to rotate your traps at the right direction from where the fish is comming. Keep a look at the movement of the fish and set up the trap.

The next step is to wait for the fish to swim at your trap and release it. I got the achievement on the second try.

Is the capture point on the trap itself or at the pivot's location?

Alright i'll try that but you say release it on the fish doesn't it take time to build, so once you actually fulfil the blueprint the fish would have moved?

Those traps are not deep enough. I had the same problem, and as soon as I moved to a deeper lake and submerged it, I got a fish.

So I eventually got it, Never got it legit but I was fed up and killed some fish in the pond, got 3 of them so I couldn't fit anymore in my inventory and there was still a dead one in the pond, I juggled it by spamming E all the way over to a fish trap and when it fell into the trap I got the achievement proc.

Turns out you can just throw a dead fish in the trap and it procs.
