Anyone else feel like the developers just up and left the game? It is like since they went to VR and PS4 they just up and stopped caring about PC. The least they could do is come out saying it is officially abandonware. Makes me wonder if I should bother trying Sons of the Forest. I used to think these guys were great. Only a small handful of people putting together a great game. Just to leave loyal fans hanging. SAD!

Im not sure their current 2020 staffing levels, but in 2018-19 it was only 11 employees. You think they have enough staff to put 5 on The Forest and 6 on Sons of The Forest? They will have ALL staff on the new game and then maybe, if at all, some minute time on the old game. The Forest was officially released and they gave more content and updates since, but they cant work on it for ever, you know that... if they had 100's of staff i might agree with you, but they dont.

Me and a friend reinstalled and played this game last night, almost nothing has changed and the game is still full of bugs. Definitely abandoned. What a shame.

Actually, I have been a loyal fan of this game since it came out to play. I have bought this game for friends and family because I enjoy the game, as did they. I do not enjoy lagging and glitching out. Especially when my computer exceeds what is needed to play the game. My expressed opinions and questions hardly make this a hater post. Just because the game has positive reviews... Does NOT change the fact they left the game full of bugs. Everything you stated has no basis.

I also find it interesting you are giving me the positive reviews for the game. I never said I didn't like it, I never said I hated it. I never said anything negative about it other than it has bugs. That isn't a review of the game. Many others have also expressed this, not just myself. This discussion has literally NOTHING to do with reviews. It is about being abandoned with BUGS.

While this is one of my favorite games to play it is obvious the developers abandoned the game prematurely like so many other devs who used the early access model. This bug report is over a year old and was never fixed. To this day I visit the rock with half a texture and mark it as 'My favorite rock in the game.' I have found 1 or 2 other rocks with partial textures but don't have videos of them.

Rant of bugs still in the game include but are not limited to sudden lag spike when large groups of enemies spawn, lag when someone goes in/out of a cave, spawn system for wild animals, clipping through rafts that have a fire built on them, countless ways to get out of the map in the caves, etc. The game runs but it is certainly not refined in my opinion. Since it is still in the top 100 most played on steam and I still see it being one of the most sold during some holiday sales such as Halloween I assume they have the funds to make this a polished gemstone instead of fools gold. Yet, I can't stop playing it. The gameplay just gets me going. I want to write a positive review but have not been able to bring myself to write a review with the blatant issues that have not been addressed.

They worked on this game for the better part of a decade (The betas started in late 2012 and the game has been on steam since 2014.) with VERY limited funds for most of that time, I'm not sure what more you could ask for. I'm confident they've only been making an appreciable profit for the last 2 years or so.

Honestly the game runs good on my system but main issue is that the mutants and cannibals are too easy and too predictable even in hard mode. There is a few minor bugs left but nothing game breaking. I consider this a successful EA-to-Finalized release. Between beta and now about 95% of the bugs were fixed and the game runs 10 times better.

Agree with all, but people consider minor bugs = game breaking. Even if you tell them they have 11 employees and the difference in staffing levels to a large company = no excuse. Then having bugs = bad and lazy devs, not going to buy their next game. Your not going to change those players minds.

2. They're putting all of their effort into Sons of the forest, so it can be released earlier
3. I have experienced such a small amount of bugs in this game, start to finish.
