Low Fps (day/night transition) Fix Found
the problem is with shadows...
go to settings/graphics/shadows and set them to medium.
This fixed it for me and i no longer drop 100fps when day turns to night and the other way round.

this bug has been killing me lol i have done fresh installs of everything including windows but finaly sussed it. hope they fix it for real soon though so i can go back to higher setting.

i was dropping from 120+ to 18 fps before but now all good.

yea this happens to me too but I didn't drop that low, the lowest I seen is 25 but I will set shadows to medium and see if that works for me

Just so everyone knows that reads this thread, its not a system specs problem as it happens even on high end cards (GTX 1070 here) its a game engine issue

Exactly. after the transition i can go on to set shoadws to max again and it runs back at 100 fps

Yea that fixed it for me thanks,, though I didn't have to go to medium, I set it from very high to high and now its playable (50 - 60fps) at night now when the fps bug hits, and 100 when running normal

something is very wrong with this game to be so hard hitting at a night transition

Yep I know, but this isn't the only game where I had problems with shadow performance its very heavy on CPU usage, I'm only on a i7 2600K @ 4.2
