Does the worm only form when you kill the megan monster and let the worm that falls off multiply?

I haven't seen it in the wild by itself. It only formed when I killed the megan monster and let the worm that fell off multiply.

Just curious if that's the only way it forms into the big worm mutant.

I guess not.
It found me once - day around 100, still didn't finish the game, haven't even seen megan monster before.
But as far as I know, megan monster appears only after you finish the game.

The actual worm that spawns without Worm Megan seems quite rare. Still haven't seen it on my hard survival world, only seen it after killing a Worm Megan's body and letting the worm live. But yes, it does spawn without worm megan.

if youre talking about that flying cannibal thats made up of giant leeches or body bags or whatever, i haven't beaten the game yet and it spawned. I don't know if it was because i was building an incredible amount though, it was about day 30 ingame and i had just made a wall surrounding the sinkhole.

we get the worm on day 50 and yesterday at day 105 it spawrn 2 times - and no we don't play the endgame / alternate ending yet ^^
