Sound doesn't work after using Walkie Talkie

Just started playing with my friend, but unknowningly I pressed the Walkie Talkie button which muted my sound for the entire session. I restarted the game but then the same thing happened when I (again) accidently pressed Q. I know it's not my setup since after exiting the game I tried to play other sounds and use other speakers and everything worked fine, so it's confined to the game. Any help?

Did you try to verify the integrity of your game files?

Just for clarity (and not to sound dumb or insult anyone's intelligence), after you accidentially hit Q and pulled up the walkie talkie, you hit Q again to 'put it away'..... correct?

Yes after I pulled it out my sound broke, then I put it away and there was still nothing. When my sound broke the first time I left the game and restarted it. I then reopened it later. Only to make the same mistake the second time.

Yes after I pulled it out my sound broke, then I put it away and there was still nothing. When my sound broke the first time I left the game and restarted it. I then reopened it later. Only to make the same mistake the second time.

I have had many issues with the sound on the Forest. Make sure your default audio devices are set to the Vive head set. Go to control panel, Sound to make the changes both for playback and recording.

I'm not using VR. I'm just playing on the normal desktop version

I verified my game cache, it didn't find any issues.
