Anyone else ever had the final boss spawn above ground?
So me and my friend were playing co-op trying to build a new super base. We had the blue artifact down and had been building for a few hours when all of the sudden the megan mutant came spinning in through one of our walls completely obliterating everything in it's path seemingly completely undeterred by the artifact. It was a ♥♥♥♥♥ and a half to kill, but it wasn't quite as hard as when it was the real final boss fight.

I'd never experienced this before, and I've been googling around and not turning up any results of it having ever happened to anyone else before either.

It was super strange, and it literally destroyed several hours of work in about 10 seconds.

It's part of the new update. They added the new sausage link freak and along with it they made Megan spawn every now and then. P.S. the new sausage freak is a huge pain because it obliterates everything you build. So keep it away from your base.
It's not really Megan either - her body isn't connected to it. It just seems to be the monster that burst out of her - so maybe just figured it makes sense to be another mutant form of some of the other kids or something, like the big blob of flesh in the lab (in other words, Megan is no longer unique).

Me and my friend were playing when it spawned and he had to get off, he was the host, I went over to it being frozen by disconnect. Seeing it still has Megan's body but it looks like a translucent sheded skin.

Just to add to this, it's my understanding that the artifact ball doesn't have an effect on mutants...... just cannies (?)

I haven't encountered the megan doppelganger enemy yet. It must be extremely rare.

Have you beaten the game? I don't think "she" spawns above ground untill then.

It is very rare after finishing the alternate ending. It's megan's mutant limbs, but controlled by a single Worm mutant. If you leave it alone, it keeps birthing more and more worms. I usually just let the worm grow a bit and then kill it for free bones.

Difficult when it wrecks your base to shreds

If you're speaking of the worm, it only does that when it's close to you to try and harm you, but you can very easily stun the worm out of their formations with a fast weapon like the machete, katana or even an upgraded tennis racket. If it destroys your base, it's definitely your own fault. Worm Megans, however, I can't exactly say the same for. They're REALLY hard to hit and really fast, though I've never had one attack my base, but I have gotten them close, and made it a top priority to get it away. I have tested what these things are like against structures, and they're VERY dangerous, and I'd go as far as to say they might be worse than the worm in terms of destruction. They don't oneshot EVERY structure like the worm, but the worm is slow and easy to stagger, while the worm megan keeps attacking and attacking. Get it away from your base as far as possible if you see one.

Thankfully, both of these are rare. I've heard somewhere it's been confirmed that the worm has a 5% chance to spawn each day but the chance keeps increasing, and resets when killed. I do not, however, know the spawn chance for worm megans, but I see them more often than the worm.

sad thing is, megan spawned right outside my base and just walked over

I was just about to post trying to find out if we had a weird glitch with the game. Friend and I had just left our large base and coming out of the tree line was Megan. We evaded her and got her away from our base after seeing her chop down the forest around us. Ten minutes later she came back around and in one swoop took everything down.

Her spin move tends to fling trees around everywhere and it's quite scary.

Ive had the megan mutant spawn 6 times on my current playthrough (day 115).

Its spawned and patrolled around the main cannibal camp each time for me.
