The Armor Guide
What’s better to hide in? A suit of fur or a suit of lizard skin? What will defend better, bone or the skin of mutants? Each armor has it’s pros and cons that are essential for surviving the harsh environment of The Forest. In the following article, every armor will be discussed along with the are made or, in the case of Creepy Armor, how they are found.

What is your favorite armor and what do you make sure to keep a ton of? Personally, I think keeping creepy armor in abundance is always a good idea.

Creepy armor needs nerfed seriously to be honest. Lizard 20, Bone 40, then SUDDENLY Creepy Armor 150! Once u get it, u pretty much dont worry about armor lol. Lizard to Bone is doubled stats, so why not do the same for Creepy at 80?

Full bone armor is 400 compared to Creepy 1500!!! Never understood why its so OP. :steammocking:

I use bone for general use cause it's easier to replace than creepy. I save creepy for bigger battles or journeys. Once the beatings pile in even creepy armor can be eaten up. If creepy armor is nerfed too much it wouldn't be very useful: waste of time to hunt mutants if bone is simply good enough.

I never use lizard armor. I save it for stealth armor, though admittedly I rarely use that too.

well it just happened. They nerfed it from 150 per piece to 80. If I think that bone armor is gone in one hit in normal mode by painted mutants.

I just wear the warmsuit at all times because cold is easily a bigger pain than any other threat. Creepy armor is now too much of a hassle to gather for what it does (which was considerable before), bone armor breaks almost instantly, stealth is generally bad in this game because the cannibals have night vision, and the lizard suit does practically nothing so that leaves me with the warmsuit which allows me to do whatever I want in the snow biome, swim at all times, and stay outside during the rain. For everything else, there's shift key.

Well Armor avoids health dmg. So even the smallest armor goes insteat of your health (at least this is my experience) Creepy is nice to get if you find one of them but not worth really farming. Bone is gone onehit even on normal thus your practice seems the most logical. If you can find a racoon. (No luck till now and I am at day 29 with a new game after the last big update. Normal and here weapons like Katana seem still the best choice or if you are with another player one blocks the other goes headshotting)

The raccoon can almost always be found upon the cliff in the middle of the east coast, next to the pool of water with trees on the south side. In fact every animal needed for the warmsuit can be found there (boars on the next cliff north). I personally almost always use a bow for fights with humanoids and spears for large mutants. In caves, I use the cannibal club against humanoids because you can just block them until they punch each other to death.

Creepy armor is the best,it is over powered. Once you`re ready to start fighting its the best option... I like stealth armor in early game when Im hunting and/or gathering supplies. Crouching in a bush with stealth armor makes you pretty much invisible wich is handy when you want to avoid engaging them.

Once you have a bow then you're pretty much unstoppable as long as you can actually see your enemies

It's been nerfed last update. You're no longer literally a god for having a few peices on. It is still, however, quite strong and still worth having.

Or crossbow, when you have a bolt farm set up to travel between the shipwreck island quickly and get bolts fast. I believe crossbow is stronger than the modern bow, only downside is that the bolts can't be modified and the reload is a bit slow. Kills regular mutants in 3-5 shots.

Correct, crossbow does more damage and is easier to get than the modern bow, however you can kill far more enemies in a quiver of either the modern bow or basic bow, they're both faster and IMO both easier to aim in a pitched fight.
