Can't shoot recurve bow.
Hi all, just started playing the game, am pleasantly surprised by how good this game is, the level of immersion is great and it's just a beautiful game to look at.

The bow doesn't seem to be working for me. I can equip it, and I can also see myself holding it, but that's all that is currently possible. I can't draw it back to shoot. Every other item when equipped works faultlessly, except the bow.

Unsure how to progress from here.

Idk what else could be the problem there, did you try using the crafted bow, if yes then try loading another save and shooting a bow there.

No, haven't tried the crafted bow. Will try that, see what happens. At work now, can't do it :-(

No, haven't tried the crafted bow. Will try that, see what happens. At work now, can't do it :-(

No, I am certain I didn't. I tried to reset to default anyways, but didn't work. Shooting should just work with the mouse though right?

The only thing I have different in the settings is that I havecrouch on toggle, because I got tired of holding the key down.

Some cheats(mods), commands and in-game creative mode disable bow if I recall correctly.

You can always try to verify game files, could you give us screen when you try to shoot? (+ screen of inventory)

Seems thats the problem. Played a bit in creative mode and with console commands and never had a working bow.

the thing that causes this is infinite items :V
creative mod has this by default if I recall correctly (it could change)
command is "itemhack on"
any mods that use this would cause problem ;D


shortly bow can't shoot when you have infinite amount of arrows

Yep, a mod caused it :D. I was using the larger backpack mod. It seems the game doesn't like it when you are carrying more than 50 arrows. Thanks for your help guys 👍

I thought that only infinity causes bug.
Maybe it is unintended bug and devs don't know about it?

It's interesting. 49 arrows and below works like a charm. If I am holding, say, 55-56 the action becomes disabled.
