How do I know if I need to make a new armor or not?

The armor is displayed in the bottom right, left of your healthbar in little segments. Gray/green is lizard, white is bone, and pink is Creepy. You can't see what you are wearing.

You cannot see what you are wearing. However, you can check how much armor you have on you by looking to the LEFT of your Health Bar in the bottom right of your screen. If you ARE wearing armor, you should see some sort of color in a segment.
YES, You can combine armors- You can have bone, lizard, and creepy armor at one time.
