Raccoon Locations

Does anybody know of any good spaces on the Island where theres raccoons? Ive been looking everywhere and I cant seem to find any

The forest wiki states: "They can be found most notably in open grasslands of the peninsula. They can also be found in Middle Northern region of the map (near the Cockpit). Hunting them in this region at night is easy as the snow reflects the moonlight and give you very good sight which can help with spotting both raccoons and occasionally 1-2 mutants. "

Helps to turn the grass settings to the lowest too, to spot them easier

Anywhere specific besides the area near the cockpitt? Ive checked grasslands b4 and didnt find any raccons.

it has to be night, it doesn't spawn at day.

I'm a newb at this, but I head right up the western coast, build a hunting hut near a pond, and overlooking a steep slope. I don't think you can get any further.

Everything is there except Crocs(Deer, Boar, Rabbits, Deer, and Raccoon). If you had enough rope, you could craft everything. I've not finished the game yet, but restarted on Hard. Last time, took me a while to find one. This time, immediate - I missed one hunting a deer, then found another.

Its a peninsula

You'll find them here at night. I've had two spawn at the same time before. Just stay still and keep your eyes on the top that's level with the pond, before it starts to slope down to the east.

the lonely tree spawns them during the day, if you play on HS difficulty, they wont come as pair, same for the boars, but below hs difficulty, when you spot 1, always kill its twin :S

always find them right around the tents with the modern arrows and old pot in the sw area of the map
