For example, setting up a deadfall near your windows, and baiting them by staying inside. And if near enough you can even reset from safety.
Lit firepit in small corridors and they will step on it.
Noose traps where they might walk. Set a firepit underneath where they are hanged, so you can set them on fire (cruel, I know). Set another trap close the back of the previous one to get the ones that will try to save their companion.
Rope swing is nice to get mutants, but very situational. If we could make it without the need to tree, would probably be more usefull.
Set a patch of Leaf Pile near your wall in case of getting overwelmed by them damaging it.
Happy Birthday is more usefull to harass patrols routes. When they are alerted, they seem to be more aware of the trap.
Defensive Wall Reinforcement is cool, but they nerfed it long time ago by removing the damage from the spikes. Kind of lame, rather change the model as well. Also would be nice if could be used in any wall, including custom and preset.
if you just stay inside and they saw you they will be coming for you so they just gonna break through walls and so... best way is using a line of traps or 2 lines along with some in the open.
Then I built a wooden defensive wall with rock spikes outwards a bit. Built 2 tower/stairs for bowing enemies attacking my walls. But the best defence I've seen in the game by far defensive damaging type is the dead fall trap because you can build it on your side of the wall and easily reset it on the safe side too. No having to constantly go outside to reset.
How I have it is I have the deadfall, then happy b day trap, then deadfall again. The rope trap and rock trap are fine but they're horrible in regards of placement because you have to put them in horrible spots and not along the wall so well whoch means you also need to go out to reset them (as far as I know).
The catapult is okay if you have a tower much higher than the walls where you can actually see enemies.
I feel like the catapult is best for multiple players who can bow and catapult.
But for dead drops, I have a bunch of them all along my wall.
But the feathers deal - I just built about 20 birdhouses all around a dead tree stump in my camp and get 10 feathers each every few in game days.
I can show you my ramshackled set up sometime because my main game is hosted in multiplayer.
