How to use yellow ropes on cave walls?

I think I've been in all caves that I can get to, but there are places that are only accessible via wall mounted ropes, but I can't seem to access them. Is there something I need to find to be able to use these pesky ropes?

if youre talking about the white/gray wall with short bits of rope. youll need a climbing axe to climb the wall.

I don't have a climbing axe yet. I'll keep searching for it in the caves. Thanks.

Honestly, your best bet is to search a guide. IIRC theres a way to get to the climbing axe thats extremely simple and bypasses cannis. Otherwise you may be searching in vain for quite awhile.
