32-Bit user
I just acquired the game and I have a 32 bit OS. I downloaded the game without issue but when I went to open the game it told me that 64 bit OS is required. When looking at the store page under the requirements it says that 32 bit users need to have 4 free Gb of RAM free and I have that. Is there any way of gettin the game up and running with my current setup.
Some feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

What do you mean but why ?

The game will actually use only up to 3gb. He asked why would someone still use 32 bit, 3gb memory is barely enough for anything these days.

Yeah well my setup is quite old (9ish years) so thats why I still have 32bit. If that answers your question ?

It downloads both, 32bit and 64bit. Just go into the game folder and move TheForest_Data, steam_api64.dll and TheForest.exe into a subfolder. Then rename everything so it matches what you moved (TheForest32_Data to TheForest_Data, steam_api.dll to steam_api64.dll, TheForest32.exe to TheForest.exe). Then run the game.

Thank you I got it, you can also go to steam library right click the game and run TheForest32 bit, just the problem of the game not crashing coz of my potato pc not being able to run anything smoothly haha

Yes, I can confirm. I have only 3.5 GB of RAM (I know, a weird number). And I can comfortably run - "The Forest" (Maybe not in the highet setting) but I sure can. I never had a problem with Lag, Freeze or any errors because of my Limited RAM.

Agreed. Many ppl just don't av the money to keep on top of upgrades. That's the biggest drawback with PC's.

I hate um sometimes.

That could be the default thing, basically when you launch the game, it should ask what you want to use, totally forgot about that option tbh, less difficult than my workaround.

Other than that you should be fine, the only time when this game would crash is if you are running out of memory but that shouldn't happen in native 32-bit anymore.
