Did you even read this guys reply?
Learn how shaders work... And its a video game. Everything is artificial! Are you retarded?
No game looks real. Sorry to burst your bubble.
If you want to point out issues, be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ educated with the options menu. Try each filter then whine like a ♥♥♥♥♥. Ignorance is always your fault. What you are complaining about isnt the game, its user error.
Clearly you have no idea at all, what John is talking about. You are blinded by facts, and only accept whatever you believe in.
You are not capable of absorbing what John is trying to say.
He is not ignorant, that is all on you.
Just from glancing at your post history of derogatory comments, it looks like you will never agree with anyone other than yourself. Grow up already.
I think the game could look much better than it does at the moment. This is just my opinion. Am I somehow wrong because you may disagree with me? The colour filters are just there to play with because there's no decent shading or atmospheric optics. It's a game, so I would have liked it to be a little more colourful and have a better looking atmosphere without the unrealistically white sky and overpowering fog (if that's what it is)
The leaves on the tree's still look like a ps1 game when the graphical settings are maxed.
The bottom line is that the game trailer for this in alpha looks so much better than the game looks now and it's out of EA. I remember reading comments about this and people would criticise them for pointing it out. The typical response was "it's in alpha. stop judging"
We're in the stages of final release. What's the excuse now? It's still butt ugly.
Here's just one example: https://steamcommunity.com/app/242760/discussions/0/34096318794239118/
The response was "The trailers are for the FINISHED game. This is early access."
The game is pretty much finished now. The significant problem as stated in this thread remains 4 years later
I'm not even whingeing about this. I'm just stating the obvious as many other people have done so already.
You're talking about forests as if the subject were about chameleons. Other games do not have colour filters because they do not need them to achieve the effect of what a lush forest may look like in a game. A game is all it is. Comparing The Forest to the other games out there (which have achieved a better look) is the whole point that it could look so much better than it does at the moment.
