I don't know, it seems worthless right now BUT the limited information on this pre-release update mentioned it was one of several they expected prior to the official launch / full release.

For those that haven't checked, you can't create sticky bombs (just endlessly add sap for no effect), and your upgrades don't show in the crafting menu or otherwise.

I don't know either, maybe you have to build it in order to get a proper ending ? Or maybe they just added that because that's what most people would think of when landing on a deserted island/peninsula

This sounds conceivable. I would. It's probably just a false hope the Devs are making us build upon. Or probably a rescue ending. An Aircraft does notice you?? Personally, I just like the endless survival aspect. I'm stranded - forever.

Farket has confrim that if a sos is built you may see a plane in the sky some time by as of right now you can't do anything else. (and building the sos before the 2nd ending has no effect so r.i.p)

Since now you leave the Lab and come out of the Snow Area instead of edning the game, I assume that down the line you will you it to get another ending.

One being where you bring down an air plane to bring Timmy back to life and another being where acc ept his death, return to the forest, call for help with the SOS, and be saved via someone else.

I still have "Find a live sacrifice" in my to do list not crossed off. Everything else is crossed. Also, the Timmy dummy and wife dummy are also part of the SOS singnal pages.

i think its a supply system cause planes cannot land on the island so what else would they do? drop supplies

No, they spot the SOS signal and send Boats or Heli's to come rescue you they would not land a passenger plane on the island ???
