Uhm, in regards logging, the best methods are as always - IMO - to use the chainsaw and/or explosives (bombs or dynamite) to level lots of trees, and then get them to a collection point: zip line to your main building site, zip line or log cart to your house boat by which you ferry them en-masse to the primary building location or log depot, and variation of those two. Here and there make use of the (modern) axe, to make sure you use up your stamina from eating during the day on maintaining your strength. Some of my favorite logging spots have been near the Yacht, or in various spots on the cliff betwen the Yacht and the large island that is sort of center far east on the map. There's a spot on the shore line that is basically flat land at sea level, and you can build a zip line from the floor there up to the cliff side for easy access with a house boat to ferry if you care.

The noise trap ... I'm assuming you mean using the walk-man / cassette player to lure cannibals over to a trap or trapped area (dead falls and happy birthday traps most often). I haven't used that myself so I'd wait to see how successful others have found it.

Most people just use ziplines nowadays, build a crane or stair or something leading up to a little tower, then have each zipline tower lead to the last, all the way to your base

I assume those creatures dont go away after waiting out?
I need many logs but im mostly looking around.
One big blue/gray guy stood BEHIND me when i picked up a log.
All withing the same fraction of that single second i dropped log, run to base, shot myself through the door and pressed esc.
Good game really!

Can't tell you how many times I've seen my friends just running back and forth wasting time they could be moving resources, so frustrating
