Changes to food and cooking
I've come back to this game after a long absence, and noted a few things have changed in the area of food. Firstly there are situations where I eat cooked meat and I am gaining zero hunger. I ended up eating 4 or 5 cooked small meat and got nothing. Then I ate 1 Snack bar and my Hunger was immediately filled. What's that all about? Did I overcook the small meat? They did actually appear a little black when I ate them.

Secondly using a Pot seems to allow me to add multiple items as if making a Stew. Why? What's the difference between eating 3 small meat, versus placing the 3 of them in a stew and eating that?

Thanks

I suspect your meat spoiled before you cooked it or indeed was left on the fire too long. I think fire foods are only good for 30 seconds. Snacks don't go bad.

As for stews you'd do best to look it up... but basically all meat counts as meat in stew, including spoiled meat and human parts. Meaning the stew cannot have negative effects. Same with poisonous things.

There are several recipes that will provide minor bonuses, such as health and thirst (when used with water). If I'm not mistaken, stew is also good for 10 minutes on the fire.

If you haven't played in a while, I'd suggest taking a look at your stat page and calories. In a nutshell, you have to have more calories eaten than burnt to gain stats. Your stats change once a day, when the sun comes up. Having more calories at cycle end than burnt, will gain you weight and vice versa, proportionally. Keep weight between 200 and 205 to avoid penalties.

Then again, I played my first playthrough not paying attention at all lmao. Needs balancing XP

it's a glitch, eat the meat from your inventory, not off the rack or fire, and it should work
