The occasional swarm of bats at cave entrances might jump scare you, but that's it. The bats are harmless.
The wiki claims some enemies start spawning even in peaceful mode if you play it for too long. I've never seen this, so either it takes a really long time or it's new.
The game has been adjusted over the years to be more forgiving in difficulty. The first enemies you run into in normal mode should be the relatively easy to defeat skinnies. Also, in my experience, it's amazing how much I can run around the place and not run into anybody at all.
Caves normally have enemies coming only a few at a time and can actually be safer than the surface as a result as long as you get some decent lighting. The terrain in caves can also often favor you tactically.
Just keep a general awareness of what's around you and take advantage of the fact that they're fairly easy to stun lock (the Painted Tribe not withstanding, but you'd have to have killed a lot of them to draw them out). You want to stay aware because enemies will try to circle around and flank you.
-People say enemies still spawn while on peaceful, but quite rarely.
-Some people swear caves are full of enemies in peaceful.
-The thing with 'if you play too long enemies will spawn at their worst hostility' is only said about veganmode, not peaceful. Veganmode is a code you use to disable enemy spawning in any game you choose, can be turned off, while peaceful is an official mode you choose to play with and there is no way of enabling enemy spawning in that mode with the same game file.
In my experience of 34 days in peaceful mode,
- I haven't seen one cannibal, mutant, whatsoever. Knowing that I was safe I was really careless about it all, went everywere I could. Camped up right in front of the plane crash I started in.
- Only enemies I encountered were a live shark that attacked me when swimming around the yatch to find a way in. Took half of my health but I was able to swim away. And this boar like animal in snowy areas, that runs away from you once it sees you, then circles back to attack you once (not a major attack), and runs again for good this time. It doesn't make an attempt to attack me if I'm already hunting it though. Also this only happened at night, I'm not sure if it does the same thing on daytime.
- I went full crazy on caves, spending days and nights in, mostly because I kept losing track and circled around. Never once I've seen a living creatue inside except for the harmless fish in some pond like water areas.
- I found a crocodile once, I suppose that's also meant to be hostile, but I kept shooting arrows at it to get its head as a trophy, and all it did was to try to run away from me.
and i played from survi from begin and i know most things ,crafting ,whole map locations ,and others.
the Peacefull mode will get you bored of the game ,and this gonna not be challenge so how you can learn game without main core ? - threat.
best tactic is just play once Peacefull ,ONCE and then switch to survival ,just check good camp spots ,buildings etc and crafting (you have most crafting recipes on B button
no idea if mobs spawn on peaceful, but I know that mobs won't spawn on vegan mode
(only the boss in boss room spawns on the vegan mode)
veganmode - This will make it so enemies only spawn in caves. Deal with them as you wish.
When you conquer the fear, at the MAIN MENU type in
meatmode
Or you can type in
developermodeon then once you're in a game hit F1 and type "godmode on" without the quotes.
Then you can explore, fight, build, craft, etc without fear of death! You can even swim through shark waters at that point!
...but welll... as long as you stealth(crouch) when they sleep you can 1 hit kill them with anything and in caves they don't respawn :D
That might have been vegetarianmode though.
But for those who really have the fear, developermode is the best bet, play on Hard Survival with God Mode for a week and you probably won't have much fear left! lol
during day they are hard asleep, and you can easily stealth-kill all of them (you can wake them up and screw the stealth run tho)
they would get bored :V they can't kill you, it takes you forever to kill them~~
on hard survival mobs are huge dmg sponges ;D like some world raid bosses in mmo
