Mod API "Can't find existing game version"
Since the release update my mod api is simpily not working, it comes up with the same message of not being abled to detect game files. I find the cheat menu helpful in controlling my servers being abled to see what players are doing by teleporting to them as well as helping build annoying stone walls that take half a year to build or other structures.

Mod api may seem sad to other players but to me i find it really useful. I am wondering if there is a way to make it work in game because I've looked at forums and tutorials ect and done just about every instruction to make it work but I'm having very bad luck with it.

I would appreciate to know if it works (how to get it working) or it's simpily disabled after the update.

Thanks :)

Hmm...have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game? That's the only other thing I can think of.

I don't use modapi, but there have been several threads of people complaining about cheaters
and modders ruining their servers. Since then, they released some updates, without a changelog.
My guess is, that they locked it out of the game in those updates.

I don't mind, if it stays that way. You have the console, which can be disabled in multiplayer now and cheating/modding should only be allowed in singleplayer. The reason for cheating in multiplayer doesn't matter... If people can't handle collecting the materials for things, they want to build, they should build something else... at least in multiplayer.

Delete the ModAPI stuff you have on your PC right now.

Go to your The Forest install folder and delete the Mods folder.

Now on the Steam app, go to The Forest, right click on it, click on properties, go to the local files tab and click on verify integrity of game files, let that finish.

Now go to the ModAPI website and redownload the ModAPI thing and any mods you were using.

It should work just fine then.
