Yes . I'm sure they put a done stamp on this one and are developing thiee next game.

Then the word is "complete" not "abandoned." Abandoned suggests they didn't finish the job, but the game is complete. Even the more recent stuff they added is largely extra fluff.

Well i have had the two line replies (couple of months ago) of "Yes we are still working on it" and "I cant talk about it", but i personally think its done content wise and bug fixing wise. A developer cannot go this SILENT if you wanted players to get excited for more lol. I dont mind, just wish we got some answers. All it takes is, "Thanks for the support of the players and staff, finishing this game. Next game coming (soon). Keep looking for more news. Hope you are as excited as we are!". I will supply you with what articles i have found and also this bit, i actually never knew. :KOh:
Ben Falcone developed his first game—an iPad title called ‘End Night’—using Unity back in 2012. “I had a really great experience developing with [Unity], and after it was completed I started to think about a follow-up game. I started experimenting with Unity’s terrain and tree tools, and not long after that the first rough version of ‘The Forest’ was born.” He put together a small team, and set sail. The first prototype took only a week or two to get to a playable stage, with a basic player character, the ability to chop down trees and some basic AI.

This article[www.gameyard.de] says its from 11th April 2019, but i dont believe that at ALL. This being an example, "With the update to version 0.06 you have added a new cannibal." Ummm 0.06 = 2019??? lmao

This article[www.onlysp.com] is from 7th November 2018,

This article[gamingbolt.com] says its from 5th October 2018. Talking to Anna Terekhova for a change. Normally its always Ben Falcone, her husband? She was listed as Anna Falcone some where i saw ages ago. Anyway, one or both, either own, manage or just work for Endnight Games.

This article[unity3d.com] says its from 25th April 2014, but is interesting.

For those that didnt bother reading the articles lol, these are the important bits i guess.
Anna Terekhova - We’d want to really change things up for a sequel. When The Forest came out it was really a unique game, since then there have been a lot of similar survival games released. We do have ideas of what a completely new take on a survival game could be (unlike anything else that exists currently) and are really excited to start exploring those ideas.
We’re still really small,” said Creative Director of Endnight Games, Ben Falcone. “We’ve tried scaling up, but it just doesn’t seem to work for us. Having a really small and agile team that works well together can be much better than a larger team that isn’t as focused. We feel a lot of our success on The Forest, along with it’s VR port and the PS4 release come from us being able to work on every aspect of the game ourselves.
Edit: He did say they upgraded from 3 to 11 staff some where.
“We have an idea right now about a new type of game,” said Falcone. “Something unlike anything else that currently exists. We’d like to make it the same way as we made The Forest, using a really small team and utilizing procedural art generation, outsourcing, and player feedback to really fast take some big risks with ideas that might be too expensive to do otherwise.”

The game is finished basically. it got an ending, a lot of feature, and got out of the early access

You and I have differing opinions on the word "complete". In this case, abandoned is a better word. Just because a game goes gold, and the dev puts a "complete" stamp on it, doesn't mean it's always done. The Forest is a good example of a game where devs just got sick of developing it, so they stopped.

That sucks if they aren't working on anything for this game. It still has a lot of potential.

No, but people usually abandon threads, especially when the OP doesn't reply back.

You're not really saying much with this really. You only claim that they stopped developing, but don't really justify the claim.

The game is complete. Since when I started playing at first the game was quite barebones with the ending, the snow biome, some animals and enemies being nonexistent. The game has gone far and at this stage it has fulfilled its promise, with ending being finished and the survival and the caves being fleshed out.

And at the price point the forest doesn't promise anything bigger, it's small game and all games don't have to be big.

When the roof planes don't float, and actually end in a peak, and there are enclosed gables in the base game, we can talk "complete".

Our priorities are probably quite different, but it seems quite odd to be so hung up on cosmetics? I hope i'm getting what you are trying to say, but it's oddly inane when trying to say something is "abandoned" when it's only minorly flawed.

Yes.

It is in no way a finished product. So its either abandoned or they are going to silently release something.

There are alot of bugs and balance issues with the game. Things like save and quit and reload respawns everything lol. Pretty much making the survival potion of the game completely pointless and utterly broken.

it's a preference thing, dude; people want ♥♥♥♥ to respawn so the devs left it
