Do modern arrows actually do more damage than the crafted ones?

Specifically for use with the modern bow. I'm wondering if it's worth stocking up on modern arrows or just keep a few bird houses around and crafting them, which is what I have been doing. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, the modern arrow itself does more damage than crafted arrows, and their damage adds onto the damage that the modern bow does.

The modern arrows are more damaging, but are limited in supply. I don't know if there's a place you can go to keep collecting them if you run out: like a place that respawns them every time you load the game. I'm pretty sure surface caches do not replenish.

Crafted arrows are easy to make, easy to aim with the modern bow, and a headshot kills instantly regardless of arrow type. For bigger mutants, throwing spears, explosives, or fire are my preferred methods of dispatching them.

And all arrows look the same when you store them (which is annoying) so it's kind of a "pick your poison" situation.

Speaking of which, poison arrows are a favorite of mine: even if you don't score that headshot, enemies are slowed and taking some extra damage regardless.

ALL surface cashes (not necessarily suitcases!) replenish after a while, that's why "cannibal village raids" are a thing.

And modern arrows have a different "feather end" when looking at the stack in ur backpack.

Best spot (that I know) to "farm" modern arrows is the same spot where you find the modern axe...

The "blue tent camp" by the goose lake, has 5 or 6 yellow suit cases with modern arrows. 1 has flares(beside tent) And yes! They do respawn . -tent save/sleep point-
This is my go to place. Duct tape also respawns there, and pots.
(Racoons at night),deer,fish,and all plants are in that area) Great place

Ounce you do add fire or mushroom damage, they do turn back to basic arrows, i believe.

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks everyone for the info and input. I may just keep making arrows and adding poisonous berries/mushrooms. That sounds like a good option. But if I come across modern arrows I will definitely take them and store them. But the funny thing is I get over 100 feathers at a time sometimes. Birdhouses are kind of broken and you can keep building them onto eachother. They all collect feathers too. It's OP and probably is just a bug but it gets a ton of feathers.
