I don't find anything in the changelogs.
But maybe someone else has a clue or MAYBE the devs stumble about this thread. XD
One can hope ^^
I only throw a weak spear for deer hunting, I use all other range weapons for fights/smaller animals.
I use the upgraded spear almost exclusively, since it's pretty much a guaranteed two-hit kill if you're playing normal. I'm not sure what it was like beforehand, but I never really found it useful to use the hand to aim. If it's an animal, I just make sure it's positioned slightly up from center screen before I throw. If it's a cannibal, I wait until it charges or whiffs a melee attack, and then chuck it from 10 feet away or so. Guessing at some point they made the accuracy kind of janky to "balance" out the damage.
If someone tells me - I just need to practice more, I swear........ I'll eat a live kitten.
Practice more :P
Agreed. Any game that has any form of ranged attack should have a crosshair as an option. Even if it's just a dot, it needs to be there. People who don't want it can turn it off, but since we're not actually standing in the game it's pretty much a necessity to guarantee a decent throw.
I don't think that you should have a crosshair in any kind in this game... but the aiming method I mentioned in the first post is perfectly fine. The forest tries to be realistic and that's a great thing. And also adds some difficulty. A crosshair would absolutely not fit in...
Just threw some spears using the hand to aim. I realize screen size will differ, but it looks like the point of impact is like...an inch up and slightly to the right of the index finger? Which makes the hand kind of pointless as an aiming mechanism. Particularly since you don't even raise your hand when you're using the lighter.
So if they wanted to make the game more accessible they could somehow make the impact point always be the tip of the index finger, or add a crosshair. Never been a fan of artificial difficulty; getting better should involve moving out of the way of hits and aiming quickly, not figuring out where your spear is going to land.
