Peaceful - no enemies
Hi guys. When on peaceful (in game) or vegan mode, there are really not ANY enemies or how does it work exactly? Didn't find anything about it anywhere apart from people who say they encounter enemies despite to peaceful mode or people being like "check for yourself haha". So anybody actually knows if it works and how? I love crafting/survival games but really dislike mutants/zombies etc crap so I really want it to be all outta game. Does the peaceful mode make that or not? Thank you

if the game says that "peaceful mode" is without any enemies so... it should make it :D

So you experienced it on your own playing with no encounters? Caves included or I gotta stay out of caves? :tragedian:

To kinda explain why I ask a lot, I am pretty shocked since I played it once ages ago and got ambushed by about 15 of them at the same time and I just refuse to deal with them since then lol it was traumatizing
From my experience peaceful mode is enemy free. I played on it a few days ago. I did take a steep fall though and knocked myself out, then woke up in a cave for some odd reason. No enemies as I was making my way out though. So that was odd, but to answer your question, yes, there are no enemies. My question is can you complete the story on peaceful mode and then unlock creative mode like that??

Thank you very much. I was very interested in the caves - enemies thing too since I would love to explore and get the cave stuff as well, with no risk. To the other part of your comment, that is certainly a good question. I´ve heard that people still encounter the cave mutants (those armsies and leggsies) which would also mean (SPOILER ALERT) that considering that option that you can still encounter someone, you still can encounter the main boss aka Mandy I think or so, who "leads" you to the end of the story. Tho, if it´s 100% true what you say, and there is NO enemie AT ALL, then I would think that either you can not finish the story line or maybe the main boss will spawn anyway (maybe won´t hurt you?) .. just speculations, good question for sure. I must say I still wait for more people to say they have not encountered anybody since it just freaks me out to be out there working on wood or just walking around. When I played before, I was "fine" for like a week and then out of nowhere this huge ambush, so must say I am quite scared, the atmosphere in this game is so real that it´s unreal lol.
I definitely know what you mean! I was jumped by just three tough guys, and I was captured... woke up in a cave and sneaked my way out. It was pure nightmare fuel... I get anxiety from playings this game lol. I gave myself stealth armor so I can hide better and run if I need to.

But btw, I just figured out today while ago, that back then I made base in most hostile area possible, so I guess that was it :D Was checking some guides and tips for starting out and there were different locations with pros and cons and there was this little lake where they are the most, which seemed like nice and peaceful area to me back then, well.. :D
I need to look up that vid! I'm not constantly swamped by enemies, but I still run into about 1-3 a day, sometimes 4 or 5 even. I am nervous going deep in the forest lol. I stay by my beach base, and I'm now building a base on the water to be safe from enemies lol. On day 9 and still no armsies or mutants yet. Thank God! Lol

Didnt read any of your replies, but basicly if you type in veganmode in the main menu there will be zero mutants in the game world. Period.

in my experience i've used vegan mode a few time, to gather supplies or build without the distractions, and the only time i've encountered cannibals was when i was on co op and someone else was on with me and we went into the caves. but on vegan mode i haven't seen any in the caves but once or twice. not sure why. i haven't tried peaceful mode yet. but all my games are usually co op because my best friend and i play together alot, so even when she's not online i still play on the co op game just to build.

I wrote a similar post a few days ago and received useless answers, weird thing the forums;-)

I play peaceful and have been exploring caves constantly, never met anyone. The ones who say enemies spawned in their games, should also say WHEN it happened, maybe it was a bug and now it's patched.

I also like the crafting/survival side of games,on peaceful though there won't even be aggressive animals, I hope they will keep them in in the future.

Thank you for the comment. And yet again, you have encountered them like twice. Which just scares the fk out of me. You know, just imagine that you are there on peaceful, everything´s going fine and then boom, ambush. I guess I would get heart attack. I know I am like overscared, and I know that after few hours in game I will have fun with those monsters, but it is just too overwhelming to start off with nothing after crash, with them on your tail. So thanks for your imput. I guess I´ll try it and pray.
my son doesn't like playing with cannibals on while he's playing alone (he's only 9) so his own game he started was in peaceful mode, and he says he hasn't seen any at all so far. idk if he's gone in a cave or not yet, but i can ask him when he's awake again [=

That would be great if you can ask him and thank you for this, I totally understand he doesn´t want them around.

If you type veganmode and load a save, the cannibals will spawn in caves, however you will not see them outside of caves. This has happened to me in coop, not sure about singleplayer

Look that I just got the game and I am also learning, my experiance is that nothing spawns, but a bug is always possible. Many posts I see are very old, from when you had to write the command on the loading screen, so I would take them for what they are, like that Kyle comment above.
I also find it difficult to understand what the truth behind a post is, many times people just trolls or say things without a solid reason, I always double or triple check an informations before believing in it, especially true with Skyrim modding!;-)

What I miss in teh Forest-peaceful are aggressive animals, those should stay in peaceful IMHO.

On a side note, you sound very young or anyways sensible (nothing wrong with it eh), not a bad idea to avoid creepy monsters or "tense" gameplay, just surviving and building is a great way to entertain yourself in a relaxed and constructive way. I personally find "monsters" to be more annoying than a challenge, so I prefer to go without them.

I never do coop, but if you wanna have company let me know, I'd like to try:-)

Thank you, I was thinking similar, that in co-op it might be happening like this, but the single player should be probably clean. Probably people saying they spawned anyway, forgot to mention they were in multiplayer... Thanks for the input.

Period? How do you explain then that many people still have encounters now and then in the game when there´s zero of them?
They are doing something wrong. If you type in Veganmode the screen changes to say a survival adventure or something like that which means its in veganmode.

The cannibals are amazing man, turning them off seems so weird unless you only want to build a base. Their mechanics are wild, they're super intelligent, and once you kill 2-3 of them you realise how weak they are. My friend and I light axes on fire and charge Armsies and cowmen head on. If you build walls around your base and make a door and have a log cabin, you can still sleep when they're around you if nighttimes too stressful.

Try with cannibals again, the detail and intelligence behind them is stunning at times
