mutant babys travel alone now

While i was building my home on the Main Beach, i saw a mutant baby came out of nowhere. It was alone, including no signs of virginia. Is this a new feature that babies can travel alone now?

Babies have never been tied to virginias since I began playing this. Not sure if that was a feature before I got the game or not though because I was told that they throw the babies. I never seem to get both spawn at once aside from in caves where their spawns are preset.

Virginia on surface spawns always with 3 babies following her. They wouldn't spawn alone. Now it is still roaming around my house alone and i have been searching everywhere for a virginia but nothing.

They spawn at day 7, now iam at 14

Baby's dont really need Virginia's it can be a Virginia around that left and the baby noticed you and left her....

no, the babys spawn around me alone in a certain radius, this has been like 3 times now where a single baby was inside my base

I hear them on the surface quite often since v.50. I've also encountered groups of 3, and they do attack! They are getting smarter, too, and can dodge some danger such as an axe swing. Or maybe I'm just a poor swinger of axe!

Weird maybe its a new feature do u live nearby caves?

No. One baby spawned on the sand near the ocean and there was no presence of a virginia.
